For those of you who do not know who is behind 201BEATS here’s a little bit of information about who we are. I’m Greg, I started the site in 2010, I’m your average college kid, with an above average ear for musical talent. When I started the site I was convinced I had the best taste in music known to man. I asked three of my good friends to help out and post music on the site because I just couldn’t keep up with the site at the rate that it was growing, but also because I wanted my friends to be a part of it. We’re regular college kids with tons of dreams, aspirations, and ideas. One of us goes to school in New Jersey, another in Chicago, and two of our writers are transferring to New York this fall. We all love to go out and have a good time, and we all know that music can make everything better. The four of us have varying tastes in music, but we all enjoy sharing music with our audience whenever we have the time to do so, but most importantly we all rep the 201.
This website, this thing, known as 201BEATS has connected me to so many different people that I never would have had the opportunity to talk to or get to know. Most people other than my good friends have no idea how much time goes into maintaining this music blog. Some of those friends don’t even understand why I do it. This site is a collaboration of many people’s work, whether it be artists, writers, or anyone that has contributed anything to 201beats.com. Anyone that has done anything for this site has done it because they simply love music. Everyone loves to find a song, share it with their friends, and see them rock with it. There’s this sense of satisfaction that you get when you set out on the internet in search of music that isn’t on the front page of iTunes or on the radio. My ultimate goal is to simply spread the joy of music and promote artists that I feel deserve recognition.
I’d like to thank everyone who has shown us support, however you may have helped out, you are appreciated. With that being said we hope to have your continued support as we move forward and
launch the completely new look and feel of 201BEATS. Within the next week
the next chapter in the book of 201BEATS will begin. We will be taking a big step forward into uncharted territory because
we hope to soon provide you with much more music then we have been able to in the past. Even though I think you’re all going to love it, it’s impossible to please everyone so we’d love to get some feedback once the new design goes up so we can make it as user friendly as possible.
